China President Xi Jinping with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Haji MohdNajib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak
As a subsequent and successive action taken to promote trade and investment between Malaysia and China following the successfully concluded international forum on trade and investment between China and ASEAN in the year 2002, Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) has since 2011 organised the Malaysia China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) thrice for the last three consecutively years. MCEC was organized to facilitate all parties in developing deeper interactions and to broaden their network of contacts resulting a corroboration of exchanges and cooperation in the economy and trades carried out between Malaysia and China.
The “Malaysia-China Trade and Investment International Conference (MCTIIC) 2011” saw a massive participation of delegates from China and ASEAN countries. It was indeed an unprecendented grand event which had been widely acclaimed.
MCEC 2012 with the theme ‘Success and You’ saw the good participation with several successful entrepreneurs sharing the concepts of success, and have had an in-depth exploration and discussion of these concepts. There were business leaders, government officers and academic scholars both locally as well as from overseas participated in this conference.
Last year, the 3rd MCEC recorded a huge participation of entrepreneurs from Malaysia, China, ASEAN countries and South Asian countries. The programs included sessions for speakers, networking among entrepreneurs, workshops, Gala Dinner etc., and the theme was ‘Positive Energy for Better Business Opportunities.’ The Conference has successfully roped in a 3 billion ringgit volume. There were 1379 participants in total, with nearly half of them represented by the overseas delegates, especially 536 delegates from China which comprised the majority of the delegates.
With the experience accumulated from the last few conferences, MCCC is taking a further step to organise the 4th MCEC in Xiamen, China. The theme of the Conference is “Journey begins with the Sea Silk Road”. The idea of the Sea Silk Road was raised by the President of China, Xi Jinping when he visited Malaysia on the 4th of October 2013. 2014 signifies the 40th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Malaysia and China.
During this memorable year, the said Conference shall create more business opportunities for both and other countries to have a more comprehensive idea about the investment atmosphere in Malaysia. The Conference would also create opportunities for introducing more of those competitively and marketable Malaysian products into China and the world by the concurrent exhibition, leading to a win-win situation for all parties.
3 in 1 Grand Event
The 4th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) and the 18th CIFIT (Xiamen) gained their official recognition from the governments of Malaysia and China, as both are complementary to each other.
CIFIT (Xiamen) is considered to be the world’s largest investment exposition in term of its scale, and MCEC is an international forum focusing on trade and investment issues. Amidst the season of celebrating the 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, coupled with the blossomed friendship and the rapid development of bilateral trade, Malaysia has for the first time participated in the CIFIT(Xiamen) as a Country of Honor. By this time, other than being the host for MCEC to be held in Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, MCCC has also gained the approval from the Malaysian government, and is authorised to be the organizer who will mobilize local businesses to attend and participate in the exhibition.
Be it for the participants or the exhibitors, this is indeed an opportunity for them to kill two birds with one stone.
MCEC with its very first overseas conference, is estimated to draw in 1500 participants, and among them are 500 Malaysian businessmen, with the rest of the 1000 participants coming from China and other countries.
53 countries and regions took part in the exhibition of CIFIT(Xiamen) last year, with 55,296 Chinese, and 15,173 businessmen coming from foreign countries. This year the number of participants is estimated to be higher than last year.
The glamorous perfomance in the bilateral trades between Malaysia and China is inseverably connected to the close relations built by these two countries throughout the last 40 years. A picture speaks a thousand words, and the ‘Photo Exhibition Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Bilateral Ties between Malaysia and China” to be held by MCCC during the coming MCEC shall enable the public to have an better idea about the details of the mutual interactions and developments achieved by these two countries in their respective fields throughout the years.
MCCC anticipates with much expectation, that in conjuction with the MCEC and CIFIT (Xiamen) , coupled with the concurrent running of “Photo Exhibition Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Bilateral Ties between Malaysia and China’, the said 3 in 1 event shall definitely be an impeccable event and enjoyed by all!
